ABOUT THE PROJECT:
When Josh & Rebecca moved their family of five into this home on Greenshores Drive, they inheirited an outdated garage with storage systems that were not going to suit their active lifestyle. The garage came with an additional storage closet which housed an old workbench and pegboard, neither of which were going to work for the family.
We started the project after the movers left and Christina, one of our professional organizing partners, began unpacking the possessions. It was clear to us that we needed to increase the storage capacity in the garage to fit two cars, transform the third garage bay into a martial arts studio and provide the family with a space for arts and crafts.
With the extra labor power and systematic process our team possesses, we helped Christina and the family say goodbye to what they no longer needed in one day and stored the remaining possessions in a mobile storage unit onsite. Then we demo’d the existing overhead storage racks and the storage room workbench setup. From there we installed new lighting, a heat pump for heating and cooling, re-coated the floors after grinding off the existing “low-grade” coating, installed a massive custom powder-coated garage cabinet and slatwall system then finished the space off with their martial arts equipment (complete with a yoga swing!). The storage room became an arts & crafts are for the kids with two side-by-side stools, upper cabinets, slatwall, and slow-close pull out drawers.
This whole project was completed with very minimal time investment from either Josh or Rebecca. In just under one month, we transformed this garage into a family-friendly 3-car garage their whole family can enjoy.
